Exciting news from Ninham Farm Lane in Shanklin! The Isle of Wight Council has approved some essential tree work, including a crown lift for a grand old oak and the removal of ash stools showing signs of disease. Plus, a large willow that could pose a risk to a nearby barn will be taken down. Our local trees are getting some much-needed TLC!
T1; Oak - Crown lift and trim back extending lower limbs to a clearance height of approx. 5m - Also remove any dead growth. Reason: Inhibits access T2, T3, T4 and T5; Ash - Removal of whole ash stools. Reasons: Some signs of Ash Dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) with limbs found on the ground - safety concerns. T6; Willow - Removal of Willow together with other scrub surrounding area. Reason: Willow has now grown to a size that has potential to damage barn adjacent if it falls.
